WHAT ARE IMPLANT DENTURES & PARTIALS?

An implant-supported denture, or implant denture, is a denture that is anchored in your mouth using implants. There are typically at least four implant posts placed to secure your denture, though depending on your individual needs you may receive as many as eight implants. These implant dentures are designed to permanently replace your missing teeth so that you can once again enjoy a healthy mouth and smile.

What are the benefits of implant-supported dentures?

There are many benefits to implant dentures, including:

  • Improved appearance, both for your smile and your overall appearance, as implant dentures replace missing teeth and support your overall facial appearance.
  • Speech improvement, as replacing missing teeth allows you to speak normally once again.
  • The ability to eat more easily, and to eat whatever you want with ease.
  • Improved oral health and function.
  • Greater durability – implants are intended to last a lifetime. Make sure to practice good oral hygiene and keep your regular dental visits to keep your implants in good condition.
  • A permanent replacement for your missing teeth, making them more convenient and easier to manage than removable dentures.

Who is a candidate for implant-supported dentures?

If you are missing teeth, you are a candidate for implant dentistry. Implant-supported dentures are typically recommended for patients who have lost multiple teeth, and take the place of more traditional removable dentures and partials.

Implant-supported dentures

Though traditional dentures restore life-changing aesthetics to your smile, patients are often uncomfortable with the way they shift and move in their mouth. Implant dentures and partials allow patients to replace missing teeth with a long-lasting, stable prosthesis that won’t shift. Our dentists and team will work tirelessly to give you a comfortable, confident implant denture that looks and feels completely natural.

Stable, durable replacements

Many patients choose implant dentures due to their affordability, longevity and ease of use. Since implant dentures are stabilized, this means that they won’t shift in your mouth or fall out, and for the most part you can eat whatever you want while you wear them. With implant dentures, you can chew steak, enjoy corn on the cob and chomp on an apple without worrying about your prosthesis slipping or falling out.
